Dogs have always been a part of my life.  They have enriched my life in so many ways.  Over the years I have developed a strong passion for working with dogs.  As a child I taught our family dogs every trick that I could think of.  In 1988 I was introduced to the wonderful world of Obedience with my Lhasa Apso Gizmo.  I have gone on to train and compete in Conformation, Agility, Rally and Herding.  I also am very active in Therapy Dogs International.   I train and show other peoples dogs as well as my own.

I am very proud of what my dogs and I have accomplished in the Breed and Performance rings.  Gizmo was the Highest Scoring AKC Obedience Lhasa Apso in the country in 1991.  He was also the first Lhasa to earn an AKC Agility title.  He made a big impact with the American Lhasa Apso Club when he received a Sheep Herding Title.  My other Lhasa , Elijah, became the first Versatility Lhasa Apso in the American Lhasa Apso Club.  To date, he is still the only Lhasa to be honored with this award.  My Shetland Sheepdog, Kyrie, has made my dream come true in the Agility ring by receiving her MACH (Master Agility Champion) in August, 2006.  We are hoping to get her CDX and continue working on other levels of MACHs.

I love being an Agility instructor.  I especially love introducing people and their dogs to the sport.  It is an amazing journey as the dog begins to learn the obstacles and the handler develops the necessary skills to guide the dog from one obstacle to the next.  The reward for me is to see my students come together with their dogs to become a team and go on to compete.  The goal that I want for my students is to get the most out of your dog’s ability. Whether it is a Novice title or a MACH, each dog has its own ability and you should be proud of all of them.  But whatever your goals are remember to always have fun with you dogs.   Your dogs will love you for it.
