Conformation Instructor

Hi, my name is Patti Pulkowski.  I have had dogs (and cats) all my life.  My first dog was a German Shepherd/Collie mix.  I have always taken my dogs to obedience classes.  Every year I attended WPKA’s conformation show and always wanted to compete.  I took the plunge in 2007 and stepped into the conformation ring with my second Akita Koda.  He never made it in the conformation ring but he successfully completed his Canine Good Citizen, Therapy Dog and Rally Novice titles.  In 2009 I got Ms. Sydney from my breeder friend in Canada.  Sydney obtained her AKC Championship at 2 1/2 years old all owner handled.  I then took her back to Canada and she got her CKC Championship, again all owner handled.  After that I thought it would be fun to have a Bred-By to show, so I bred Sydney.  She gave me 4 beautiful puppies and taught me a lot about raising puppies from birth.  At 7 months, I started showing Sydney’s daughter Jazz.  Jazz finished her AKC Championship at 13 months old all out of the Bred-By class.  Jazz got her Grand Championship at 2 years old and went on to obtain her Bronze Grand Championship.  I also showed Jazz at Westminister where she was awarded Select Bitch.  Both Sydney and Jazz have their Rally Novice Titles and Jazz also has her Canine Good Citizen title.  I also have Jazz’ brother Geno. He has his Star Puppy, CGC and CGCA titles.

Over the years I have assisted instructors with teaching puppy, basic, novice and rally classes. Xcel has given me the opportunity to teach conformation classes and I have loved every minute of it.  I enjoy working with dogs and people and I especially enjoy seeing them succeed in the ring.
